In-Home Safety Assessment
Bridgeway Care at Home therapists know that there is more to staying safe than just staying home. A safety assessment in your own home is one more way we can empower you with simple steps that will help you live independently. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Aging (CDC).
About 36 million falls are reported among older adults each year — resulting in more than 32,000 deaths.
Each year, about 3 million older adults are treated in emergency departments for a fall injury.
One out of every five falls causes an injury, such as broken bones or a head injury.
Each year at least 300,000 older people are hospitalized for hip fractures.
More than 95% of hip fractures are caused by falling.
Women fall more often than men and account for three-quarters of all hip fractures.
While it’s always a good idea to consult your doctor if you feel unsteady, dizzy or aren’t seeing well, it’s also important to make sure your home is safe.
That’s where Bridgeway Care at Home comes in. We can help you keep your home as safe as possible. As part of your therapy services, our therapists will assess your home environment and make recommendations specific to your own situation.
